TINNNAAA

We love High School – the new show based on the teen years of lesbian twins Tegan and Sara, not the educational institution. The first four episodes are now streaming on Amazon, and we’re giving it a big gay thumbs up. The sapphic teens are adorable, the soundtrack is killer, and the outfits rule. Also, we now kind of want Cobie Smulders to corner us in a hallway and chastise us for drinking, but that’s neither here nor there.

Sapphic TV just got more chaotic. A new trailer for Season 3 of The L Word: Generation Q just dropped, and it looks unhinged. Fletcher – the queen of drama herself – shows up and says “it’s the kind of sapphic chaos we live for.” We’re not sure that we live for it, but we will be tuning in. (This tweet about Bette yelling “TINA!!!!!” made us LOL.) Fashion designer Jenna Lyons has joined the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City, making her the first queer housewife on the show. Read about her coming-out story in The Cut. Also, Rachel Maddow and Melissa Etheridge went on Watch What Happens where Andy bestowed them with the power to speak for all lesbians about pop culture topics. That’s probably fair.

TINA!!!!!!!!!

Big announcements this week. Lesbian Jesus herself, aka Hayley Kiyoko, recently revealed that she will be writing a novel based on the “Girls Like Girls” song and music video. It doesn’t go on sale until next year but can be pre-ordered. Our Expectations (see what we did there?) are low, but we’d love to be surprised. Also Meg Stalter, “hard launched” her girlfriend on Instagram. Katie Gavin from MUNA commented, “well my heart is personally shattered but happy for you.”

Other dispatches from the little gay people inside the internet:

Cool Opportunity: Get your website built and designed by Out in Tech for free. The Out in Tech Digital Corps program builds WordPress websites for LGBTQ+ activists around the world. A website can serve as a powerful platform to share resources, raise funds, advocate for policy-change, and build community. Since 2017, volunteers have built websites for 200 organizations. Their next build is in December, and you might as well apply! Examples of websites include The African Queer Youth Initiative and Almas Cautivas.

And last but not least we are throwing our second annual Dykey Hallows halloween banger, this time with the incredible Leslie team and 3DB. We have a fantastic line up of music ft. Margot and Dj Purr and performances (TBA). There will also be a costume contest hosted by Lindz with queer prizes to be announced.

We are giving away two tickets to one reader who refers this newsletter to one friend. Winner will be contacted by early next week - use the link at the bottom of this email. See you there! 🧙‍♀️🧹🐈‍⬛🌙
