We’re just curious – is it serious?

Welcome to another edition of the Gayjoy Digest!

We are gearing up for Pride and have so much in store for the community. Be on the look out (starting today) for tix to our events, amazing giveaways, and partnership announcements.

And now, here's all the news that's fit to print.

We’re just curious – is it serious? Apparently, the answer is yes. On Thursday, Lesbian Jesus herself, AKA Hayley Kiyoko, released the music video for her song “For The Girls,” which is off her forthcoming album PANORAMA. The video sees Hayley playing a lesbian Bachelor, as various queer women and nonbinary folks vie for her love. At the end of the video, there’s a twist. After making out with several contestants, the true object of Hayley’s affection is revealed – Becca Tilley, a former Bachelor contestant herself, steps out of the limo, and all the other contestants are quickly forgotten.

You might be thinking ‘okay, cute Bachelor tie-in, I guess.’ But wait! There’s more. During the video release party, Hayley and Becca were seen kissing in front of the crowd, confirming rumors that they are in fact dating. Becca confirmed the relationship herself just hours later when she posted an Instagram reel highlighting her favorite moments with Hayley. The news became even more shocking when Hayley revealed, in her own Instagram post, that she and Becca have been together for a whole FOUR YEARS. This begs the question, was the entire “For The Girls” music video created so they could soft launch their relationship? Should this be the new standard for lesbian relationship reveals? Our heads are literally spinning. We’ll leave you with this Jezebel headline: Woman Famously Dumped By Men Moves On With Other Extremely Hot Woman. We’re gooped!

Kristen Stewart is at Cannes. We repeat: Kristen Stewart is at Cannes. She rocked several different styles, including another braless suit number, a glam two-piece crop top moment, and of course, a very sapphic jeans/t-shirt/boots look. French icon Léa Seydoux, and she also wore a suit. sapphic_sandwhich also posted a somewhat NSFW photo of Kristen at Cannes and we are…looking, respectfully. In case you were wondering, Kristen is in France to celebrate the release of David Cronenberg’s new film Crimes of the Future, which caused at least 15 walkouts during its first screening. So like, watch at your own risk.

Here’s some television news for you. The first trailer for the Queer as Folk reboot has dropped. The series stars, among others, Juliette Lewis as the mom of one of the titular queers, and Jesse James Keitel, who is excellent on the extremely mediocre ABS show Big Sky. We’re praying it’s better than The L Word reboot. (Warning for those watching: there’s reference to a Pulse-like incident in the trailer. ) Also, the queer cuties on Heartstopper have been renewed for a second and third season, and stars Joe Locke and Kit Conner want Jennifer Coolidge on next season. Lastly, Hannah Einbinder took Jean Smart on a lesbian cruise on Hacks, and Margaret Cho was there.
